  1. Well, geez, I'm surprised this on ehasn't been asked: (1) What is the status of the Pursuit of Cobra line??? When can we preorder some new figures? (2) Less a question, and more of a comment. Hasbro needs to make the whole situation with "Best of the 80s" right. They need to offer at least Alpine and the last of the MASS device to their loyal customers. I know I for one will never participate in another one of these "Build a Device" schemes again if they will not allow people to get these sets. I have 2 of each of the first four sets (which were purchased priomarily for the MASS Device), and have looked endlessly for the fifth with no success. VERY angry about this one.
  2. I think the 3.75" figures look pretty good... The 6" figures look very strange with that texture on the uniforms. It may be accurate but makes them look completely silly IMO. But then, I always do prefer 3.75" scale... easier to store, cheaper to collect.
  3. Funny, my reaction is th exact opposite of most here... I was completely ambivalent about PDD but this one looks kind of cool.
  4. You know, it really sounded like this movie was promising once upon a time. Why is EVERY character dressed in black??? To not give ANY of them their distinctive and recognizable look is really a shame. They cast the perfect Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow... nearly everything since then has been bad news IMO. I wouldn't even mind that much except that they will probably crush the 25th figure line and start only producing figures based on the movie. Otherwise I could simply ignore the movie and go about my business. I worry we will never see any of the good looking costumes and familiar facial features of the classic characters again. Any truth to the rumor that the black outfits are for a special "stealth" scene? At least that way there would still be hope they might have something recognizable in the movie. But if true, why would they keep releasing images of their crappy black outfits?
  5. I don't think that's quite correct... Back in those days, action figures WERE selling and were the big thing. Storers needed to keep that kind of stock on hand to satisfy demand. The same figures would sell all year long, rather than being considered "peg warmers" if they were more than a month old and still on the pegs. The problem is that they have been replaced by video games, mp3s, text messaging, and the internet. Technology has changed what kids keep themselves busy with in big ways. Once they stopped selling, that's when the stores started having trouble. Unfortunately, this is also why we will never see things like the Flag or Terrordrome again...
  6. Thanks a bunch Kevin, very nice of you. I was able to sneak in a pre-order for a collector's grade Flint from BBTS... they seem to put them up and take them down every couple days at this point. So hopefully I am taken care of on the Flint front... but hey, if you happen to see a nice non-color changing Zartan in good condition I would love to have it! Just let me know! While on the subject, anyone have any experience with "collector's grade" from BBTS? I have actually never ordered from them before, always used EE. But I like their "pile of loot" functionality... I am also a bit relieved because Hasbro said in one of the Q&As that they will be shipping Flint in future waves as well. I also want to say that Entertainment Earth came through big time as well. I notified them of the issue and they are willing to refund my entire purchase amount plus the original shipping, and send a postage paid sticker for the return (because the product arrived damaged). They have also offered to negotiate some kind of discount if I want to keep the figures. The guy on the email was incredibly friendly and I really appreciate it. I think I will take the full refund as I already have openers of everyone except Flint at this point.
  7. Really? I was under the impression they were rarer than 1 out of 3... I'm irked because of course there are no more Wave 1 cases to order from EE, so my choices are to send the case back and get a refund (and eat the $18 or so shipping) or keep em. The only one I'm really worried about keeping is Flint, as it seems the others are appearing in assortments from Waves 2-5. But $60 for a crappy condition Flint seems a bit much... It still really seems to me that the Wave 1 box is too small... hoping for more feedback on that, and also hoping that waves 2+ have slightly bigger boxes to combat the problem. My Star Wars figures are rarely damaged from being shoehorned into the case.
  8. All three Snake Eyes are with white wolf of course... So have you seen any Wave 1 cases? This one seems to be clearly too narrow to hold the figures...
  9. I have been buying Star Wars for years and know full well given Hasbro distribution around here that the only way I can ever get all the figures (and in good condition) is to either buy cases online (EE, BBTS) or pay through the nose on eBay. I hate buying from eBay soooo... I have ordered cases of all the new 25th anniversary Joes so far. EE (finally!) just shipped my wave 1 (yes, wave 1!) to me and I am EXTREMELY disappointed. Who the heck at Hasbro measured to figure out what size box these need to ship in??? They undermeasured and the result is every single figure in wave one is on a mangled card. WTF??? I always want two, one to open and one to keep MOC. I am willing to accept some scratches or an occasional bent corner, but due to this improper packaging I don't have a single figure with a card that isn't creased on both sides and in a generally crappy looking package. I have seen 4 or 5 Joes in stores (which is pretty pathetic in and of itself) and they were in much better condition. Did I just get an old case? Are waves 2 and 3 shipping in bigger boxes? So now I don't know if I should just cancel all my other case preorders or what... I really love the figures, but frankly I am compulsive and want a set that is in good condition as well. This is just incredibly frustrating.
  10. Please use my screen name. (1) Will the initial 10 figures from the Joe and Cobra anniversary battlepacks be released on single figure vintage cards? This would be far preferred for many reasons (ease of army building, nostalgia for packaging, etc). A recent issue of Action Figure Digest clearly stated multiple times that the initial 10 figures would be released on single cards as well (as repaints). Or are they referring to the Flint/Hooded CC/etc wave, which seem to at least have new heads? I was pretty disappointed when I found out that we wouldn't get the awesome single card versions of these iconic figures... (2) Entertainment Earth has had a listing for a second Cobra battlepack for a while. The choices of figures seem odd (Cobra Commander 2004, Storm Shadow 2004, Cobra Trooper Comic Book deco, Cobra Jet Pack Trooper, Cobra Stinger Driver). We are already seeing two other versions of Cobra Commander and Storm Shadow, and why would an animated trooper be included in a battle pack with standard figures? Can you confirm who will be in this battlepack, and also whether these figures will also be available single carded? Thanks!!
