Even after going through the trouble of switching my credit card, it looks like Matty authorized my card today for Gray-skull! Now, hopefully it will ship just as quickly! Anyone else?

If your credit card doesn’t successful process, then your pre-order is temporarily on hold and you’ll receive an automated email letting you know that. You’ll then receive another email tomorrow asking you to contact Customer Service before 6pm CT on 12/4 to complete your pre-order. Please don’t wait to call, because Castle Grayskull is truly awesome and you won’t want to miss this amazing opportunity! And if you don’t receive an email, then your card has been successfully processed and we’ll let you know when your order leaves the warehouse.

Can we say, NOT SURPRISED!?

 

Castle fans,

 

We are starting to send out payment authorizations to begin shipping the Castle. If we tried to authorize your card and it failed you should get an email altering you to this. When the CC fails, the Castle order is "canceled". To quickly uncancel and ensure your Castle comes as intended, please just simply call CS and confirm a current card.

 

I realize that many of you already switched cards during the year and there are reports coming in that the old card was charged. I apologize for this, but as noted above, please just call CS today and clarify your current card so it can be charged.

 

There is some urgency as any unclaimed Castles by Dec 5th will be added to the "day of stock" on Dec 16th at $300.00. So to ensure you get your Castle at the presale price, and your presale X sell poster, make sure your current card is on file. If you received an email notifying you we could not charge your card, call 1-877- GO MATTY as soon as possible.

 

Also, as we need everyone's help, please help repost this message on all of your Facebook accounts or web pages. We want to ensure all preorder customers receive there Castle at the preorder price.

I've been browsing the .org and there are a ton of people under protest about DR cancelling their Castle Grayskull orders. Looks as though many people are going to miss out on this because of DR's incompetence. So sad.

 

Just for the hell of it, I sent them an email telling them my order got cancelled, even though I purposely cancelled it earlier this year... with a little luck maybe DR will bill my card and send me a castle. LOL!

If they couldnt charge your card the stupid DR system sends out an automatic response saying your order was canceled even though it really wasn't. Its just on hold till you call in with updated info. People have till Dec 5th to do that.

My card has been charged but that was on tuesday.Usually by now we get an email from them confirming they charged

I mean that the other day, I had a pending charge for $291 from Matty. Today, nada.

Either it was just a pre-authorisation check prior to the actual billing or DR is screwing the pooch yet again.

 

No cancellation notices so who frickin' knows anymore?

 

EDIT: I made a rare jaunt into Org-Land and found this little tidbit:

Pre-authorization is just to check that your card is still valid and funds are available. You’ll get an email notice when your castle ships and your card will be charged at that time.

 

So it looks like it was just a pre-authorisation. Actual billing will occur at shipment. Crisis averted.

We’ve heard your confusion around the Castle Grayskull pre-order and do apologize. Here’s a complete Q & A update as of today, 11/26/13.

 

Q. When will my Castle Grayskull ship?

A. The castles have started to arrive at the Digital River warehouse! To ensure your castle gets to you in the best possible condition, we’ve ordered custom, heavy-duty packing materials and the castles are being packed into these special boxes together with the collection checklist posters as you read this. They’ll begin shipping in the middle of next week and will ship through the middle of January.

 

Q. How do I know if my order is okay?

A. If your card has successfully been pre-authorized, that means your order is all set and you don’t need to do a thing. Pre-authorization is just to check that your card is still valid and funds are available. You’ll get an email notice when your castle ships and your card will be charged at that time.

 

Q. What if I don’t get a notice that my castle has shipped even though the pre-authorization was successful?

A. If you don’t get a shipment notice by 1/15/14, please call Customer Service at 1-877-GO-MATTY and they’ll make sure you get yours. (But please don’t call before then – Customer Service doesn’t have a way to know when individual orders will ship.)

 

Q. I got an email cancelling my order. What do I do?

A. If you received an email advising you that your order was cancelled, that means your credit card didn’t pass the pre-authorization process (this happens for a variety of reasons like an address change, the card expired, funds weren’t available, etc.). Please rest assured that your castle is still waiting for you! If you haven’t yet, please call Customer Service at 1-877-GO-MATTY before end of day on Thursday 12/5/13. They’ll “reinstate” your order, which means they cancel your current order and place a new order with your new credit card information. And if your original order entitled you to the collection checklist poster, you’ll still receive the poster.

 

Q. I called Customer Service to change my credit card information but it didn’t get changed. Now what?

A. We identified an issue in the process for reinstatements that affected a small percentage of customers. We sincerely apologize for this. It’s been addressed and shouldn’t happen again. If you’re still concerned, please call Customer Service at 1-877-GO-MATTY.

 

Q. I pre-ordered in 2012. My shipping charges are higher than I was quoted in 2012. Why?

A. In January 2013, shipping costs for some methods went up and some went down (this is controlled by the shippers, not Digital River or Mattel). If you placed a pre-order in 2012 and your pre-authorization DIDN’T process, you hopefully called Customer Service to reinstate your order. When you called Customer Service to reinstate your order, the original order was cancelled and a new one was placed, as explained above. The new order is automatically calculated with 2013 shipping rates. If the shipping cost for your new order is higher than it was in 2012, please call Customer Service AFTER your order ships and we’ll refund the difference. You need to wait until after the order ships to receive a refund because your card won’t actually be charged until then. Please note that this only applies to orders that were placed in 2012. If you placed your pre-order in 2013, please read on…

 

Q. I pre-ordered when Castle Grayskull was available in February/March 2013. What about my shipping charges?

A. Your shipping charges are correct. The change in shipping rates took place in January (again, some methods went up and some went down) and your order already reflects the 2013 shipping rates.

 

Q. I didn’t pre-order a castle and now I want one. What can I do?

A. We’ll have a limited number of castles available during Early Access for subscribers 12/12 at 8 a.m. PT through 12/13 at 8 a.m. PT, subject to Early Access sellout. So... instead of just admitting that they screwed the pooch, again... They try and make it sound like they are doing us a solid. Custom Special Boxes? What a joke. Boxing each package is common practice. The castles arrive in bulk and need to be boxed individually... There is nothing custom or special about it. Can this guy go one minute without being a goddam liar?

This whole process is rediculous. I called matty 3 weeks ago to make sure all my billing and shipping was correct b/c I had a difficult time trying to update my info on the website. Matty c/s assured me it was all correct and ready. Then this past week I get the cancelation email. So I call again and after a very frustrating conversation, and updating all my info for the third time, Im still not sure if I will actually recieve my castle. I hardly ever had a problem ordering from the site over the years, but this has really pushed me too far. At this point i dont care if i get a castle or not. To those of u that havent had a problem with ur order, thats great, and enjoy ur castle! I for one am done with matty after this. I feel its too much hassle and aggravation to keep going.

Here's to hoping for 6 inch GI Joes!

I received a pre-authorization on my card, for the pre-order price plus tax and shipping. Pretty nice considering I cancelled my order earlier this year. LOL!
