I knew about the sword. It also has a CD that I'd like to have. But there's no way I'd pay that much for the set because I already have all the other DVDs. It's a shame.

What's on the cd?

Filmation music from the series, if I remember correctly.

Set looks fine, I guess a completist would get it for the sword (they prob have the dvd's). The only boxset i got was the GI joe dvd set w/ blue snake eyes but at least that was a figure. I dont even know who has a gold power sword on Eternia as He Man's is silver/ metal... a metal vac sword would be cool though.

I had a Battle For Eternia board game when I was a kid that came with gold Power Swords. And the best part was they weren't halves that snapped together but actual full Power Swords identical to what came with the figures but with both sides as one. That's what this reminds me of and that's one reason I'd like to have it.

not a bad little set tho. too bad it doesn't have all of N/A. at least it gives a taste tho. its a better show than most give it credit for.

I think it's a great show. I think most fans watch one episode, hear Skeletor's voice, and immediately decide it sucks and/or they don't like it and won't watch it.

I love the story and the continuity of it.

And when you find out they were planning to take He-Man and Skeletor back to Eternia for season two with Man-At-Arms ruling with an iron fist, it gets even better.

Everyone loves to rag on the Filmation series, but here you have a show that did have more continutiy, character development and some interesting stories but because it was such a departure from what everyone knew they just had this absolute knee-jerk reaction. I'm not saying its without flaws, but no series is.

I'll use Batman as an example, there have been so many incarnations of the Dark Knight, from the campy goodness of Adam West to the gritty Miller version. New Adventures was just giving us a different take on He-Man.

What Jack Olesker had planned for Season 2 sounded fantastic. It really is a shame it got cancelled when it did.
