  1. Growing up with Gi Joe in the 70's was great as a kid. Then after my kids started in the 90's with the 3 3/4 Joes I got hooked on collecting them. Fast forward to 2010 when the Club released the 3 3/4 Adventurers, I bought them all and customized more. I just couldn'nt get enough of the fuzzy head bearded Adventurers that I grew up with. But one major piece was missing, the cool vehicles. Being a design engineer I thought hey just redesign the vehicles I grew up with using 3D cad then print the pieces out on a 3D printer. I also vacuum formed the bubble from the 3d printed bubble. I've also made the 6x6 ATV complete with working winch.
  2. I wanted to complete the Armor set and decided to sculpt and paint my own. And the finished
  3. I noticed the toy fair pictures this year had a picture of all the secret loot which included the Warglaive. It wasn't releases in wave one so I decided to craft my own. Here's a work in progress shot.
  4. I've been customizing these figures, painting, sculpting, etc. Check them out. These shots and backgrounds are not photoshopped.
  5. Hey All, This is my first try at sculpting a sword. I have sculpted other items over the years. I wanted an epic sword for one of my customs and sculpted one using milliputt. First I researched a cool looking blade a saved pics of it for ref. Then I searched my junk for a good round handle grip. I found and empty ink pen cartridge and it snapped into the figure hand perfectly. I cut the tube about a half inch long and mixed up a batch of milliputt and started sculpting. Once cured I carved the hard edges using an exacto knife. Paint and done. Here is a link to a pic of what the sword looks like. http://wow.zamimg.com/uploads/screenshots/normal/280440.jpg Here a pics of the sword.
  6. My son's and I have been all over the new WOW Mega bloks sets, and yes these are the best block sets out right now. We have customized figures, detailed figures and weapons, swaped armor and have just had a blast with these in general. Attached are some of the projects. Death knight. Scourge lord armor complete Judgement Armor less helm Detailed weapons:
  7. Yes, I am a fan of the Adventure Team. Have been since 1973. My scratch built Adventure Team 6x6 and scratch built Jeep in 3 3/4 scale. Also been upgrading the team as well.
  8. Kids are spoiled on the articulation as well that's exactly why Green Lantern action figures bombed so badly. They had tough time selling even at clearance prices. As far as customizers buying them for fodder the only thing usable was the head. It is ashame because alot of these are sculpted extremely well. Clutch looks awesome except he's just a Ken Doll now! Jinx will be the third exclusive I won't get, oh well at least I found the 30th Stormy before Christmas. Hopefully Hasbro will be smart enough to sprinkle in some 30th in the line if we make it past the first wave of peg warmers! It's ashame to with everyone digging the movie line!
  9. Thanks for all the great replies!! I just purchased a starter kit at Hobby Lobby and it had the RTV silicone rubber to make the mold the cups and sticks for measuring and mixing and the two part resin for molding. The investment was around $30 bucks Cost= Average investment. As far as setting up It took about 1 hour to figure out how I wanted to mold the part. 4 hours to make the mold and let the mold set up. Molding to about 40 minutes playing around to get the mix at it's minimum so no to waste alot of resin. All together about 6 hours to paintable parts. The resign is also easy to cut, sand, and drill by hand. Difficulty from 1-10 I put it at about 3. I would highly recommend you try this at least once.
  10. Yes, I toyed around with Ship Wreck's body but the short sleeves and Pop-eye forearms just didn't work. I am looking to make a custom sea adventurer body.
  11. I have been digging these so much I had to have a few more members on the team. So I decided to cast a few AT Heads. Then added the red head Adventurer!!
  12. Thanks! My brothers and I had the original fuzzy heads back in the 70's and we made up our own stories and adventures in the backyard. When these came out I had to pick them up for that reason. No villains, just simple tales to tell.
  13. The Adventure Team Captured and loaded the White Tiger in the Cargo truck. I added the Schleich Cargo truck and some crates to the Adventure Team inventory.
