Disney looking to revive Indiana Jones...

Nah...gotta go with Idris Elba. Who else is hot right now....Peter Dinklage? Could go younger with Michael B. Jordan. OOO! How bout we reboot it in a new set of films that have no connection to the others and Indiana Jones is a woman?!

But, seriously, Pratt is still too goofy for me, even with his Marvel minted abs. Rather see Bradley Cooper or Karl Urban.

Or how bout "NO" altogether? Give us a break...they just announced the cast of Faux-Busters today.

Both good picks. Karl Urban? Intriguing!

Maybe Pratt comes off as "goofy" because Starlord was goofy and that's the only thing he's been in so far? But I think he could sell it. I just have a feeling...

I think if they handled Indy like James Bond, with a new actor every so often, and focus on telling a good story with the character and not worry about the merchandising, cross-promotions, and gimmicks, this franchise could pick up again.

See, I just can't get behind stuff like that. Saying that an actor can't pull off a part because he played something completely opposite in a previous roll(s). This is a cliche but they are called actors for a reason.

I can see him channeling a young Harrison Ford, knocking it out of the park, and winning you over. That's right, I'm calling you out on New Star Wars AND Pratt Indy #US1# .

If there ever IS a Pratt Indy... @indy@

(PS, seeing his superhero torso in GOTG and his.....not-so-super torso in your gif gives an average guy like me reason to hope.)

If they're going the prequel route with Indy, then I'm on board with casting a younger man. Otherwise, Harrison Ford will forever be the only true Indy for me. I can't accept them recasting anyone for the "current" Dr. Jones.

Speaking of accepting a new actor for the younger Indy, I'm a little on the fence when it comes to Chris Pratt. I absolutely loved him in GOTG, and I think he's gonna be an awesome leading man in Jurrasic World, but he's gonna have to drop the party frat clown persona if he's to convince me he can play Indy. But my mind's wide-open on this one, simply because the Indiana Jones franchise is too good to go quietly into the night, as it were. And I prefer the Nazi/1930's/pre-WWII era for Indy's escapades...the concept of Indiana Jones just lends itself too well to volumes of adventures, and the more the character has, the richer the mythos feels and the more he seems like a storied relic himself, complete with a vast, fascinating background that makes him almost like a mythical legend in and of himself. We need more Indy...need I say! (lol)

Everyone has a "type," and I say his face is too friendly. Big and lovable. He can be a comic-leading man, or the best friend, or the average joe, but "comic" is always going to be the preface.

My first choice before Pratt would be "Chicago Jones" from "Hollywood Shuffle"....he was stepped over by Shia the beef......Chicago Jones currently lives in Indiana so his cred is legit....I just hope they don't revisit "the beef" he's not as great as Optimus Prime thinks he is....Shia Lebeef would make anyone a dead beat dad...

I say Disney ignores the last Indy movie and go from there. Have whoever they get to be Indy's son. Hopefully that might make fans happy. That way Ford gets to stay as Indy. Maybe have Henry Jones III.
