Looks like Tonner is finaly getting their act together. I'm still not a fan of theirs tho. Its the color scheam that turns me off. I mean realy Cat Woman in Pastels!! YUCK! but they do seem to have improved on the whole rooted hair thing, & the mask on the figs don't look quite so............amiture. you know like the doll came to life & made its own costume so it can attend the "toy costume ball" lol.

Tonner IMO still has a way to go. the figs still look more like Mattel desided to do a super deluxe barbie series featuring a super hero theam. I'll take my Hot Toy over Tonner any day of the week.

I am still in love with the Tonner DC Stars line. I am eager to see Hawkwoman in person. I personally thought that the Lana Lang doll they made was so gorgeous that she would have made a great Hawkwoman.
I agree that the Catwoman costume has some flaws, namely the purple is too light and the cowl needs to fit better. But I think that the Batgirl cowl looks great and I have confidence that the same will be true of Selina.
The character of Green Lantern is a favorite of Robert Tonner's. I had heard that Tonner was going to be making him and it's great to see him both with and without his mask.
I am also looking forward to the deluxe Wonder Woman, Supergirl and Poison Ivy. I'm particularly happy that WW has a metal chest plate. This adds to her overall look so much. Plus the use of more "velvet-y" materials is a great move.

Muppet I was trying to figure that out. is it a real metal thats used or just metal color? the discription is a lil vague.

These figures look very nice. Still haven't bought one though. I'm sticking to the DC Direct 1/6 scale. That being said, I don't like the looks of the 1/6 scale Wonder Woman. The women in the DC Direct line look very odd. It's the legs and arms.

Phil, I can't believe you like Larvox. I hate that thing. It looks like a giant potato. How did that thing evolve? You just know it's prey on its homeworld. If you like that thing, I'm not surprised you like the DC Barbie dolls. At least you like the much better looking 1/6th scale DC figures (read: figures, not dolls).

Does anybody have photos of these figures stading side-by-side. I would love to see the comparison. I'm seriously thinking of getting the new Tonner WW. I'm not crazy about the price. Yet, if the quality is there, I would pay more. Especially if I'm going to make a purchase every 3-6 months.

I might stick to DC Direct when it comes to the male figures, but go with Tonner on the female figures.

If I had the money, and I mean a LOT of money, I might consider this line. I like the detail they put into the costumes, but as mentioned, the figures look... less than heroic. If Barbie were to have a Halloween Gala, this is what I would expect to see. The DCD line has much better sculpt. And molded hair. Tonner gets points for the sheer b@lls to give this line a go, but I think he's better off sticking to the high-fasion ultra-Barbie works he is known for.

Those guys on the GLC board are brutal. Here's what I think. They're BOTH dolls. They're BOTH expensive. The DC version is macho though. Nothing wrong with that whatsoever. Hey, it's a great time to be a collector. Lots of fantastic choices. I just want to see the craftmanship on a Tonner figure sometime.

My guess (and it's just a guess, mind you...I haven't seen the actual doll yet) is that it is "chromed" plastic, like what was used for her tiara and belt for the original WW.
I asked at the Tonner booth why they didn't make her belt chromed this time and they said that it had to do with a) trying to keep the costs as low as possible and that there were a lot of complaints (from myself included) with the original belt that it rode up too high and you couldn't get the belt to sit right on her so you could see where the blue spangled panties and the red bustier come together.
