Why do you say that?? Seems to be selling well at retail, even at regular prices!!

im jk, honestly i haven't kept up on how this line is doing, ive seen a few at retail but passed...im burnt out i guess.

Its probably gonna take the snow trooper or biker scout to get my juices flowing again. I thought maybe slave leia would

do it but the excitement hasnt kicked in yet. Maybe even the new movies will get me going again or a new big vehicle.

Im glad though ppl are excited about this line...and its hanging in there.

I've been the same way Romadon. I'm a huge Sar Wars collector, and I just assumed I'd be all over these, but...I don't know what it is. I only got my first one last night for a Christmas present, and it's Han. I took my time and thought I picked-out the one in the bunch with the best paint job, but when I got home and took a closer look, the flesh paint on his neck was sloppy in the back and on the sides. My issues have been the paint problems I guess. For this to be the be-all-end-all of Star Wars action figure lines, I've not been too impressed with the paint. I've just got a feeling though, were I to open my Han and check it out loose, I suspect I'd be in love with this line.

what really has me thinking is when the new movies come out, are we gonna have two lines 6" and 3/4"equally represented.....i dont think i can support two lines, will 3/4 line take a back seat to the 6" line in terms of resources allocated to one line over the other. Is hasbro even gonna make 3/4" figures for the new movies, or just 5 pts of articulation style figures just for the movies. Do i buy these 6" figures, then only to see later a re-releases of these figures on vintage style packaging.

The Slave Leia is the worst 6" figure released to date. Honestly I don't understand why they choose that version of Leia to release right off the top in only the second wave of the series. This figure only has appeal if they end up releasing a 6" Jabba at some point, but even still a Leia from ANH ESB or even Endor Leia would have been such a better choice for the first version of the character.

As for the future of the line, this is only speculation on my part but I don't really see the 5POA figures going away even when movies come out. If the Marvel line is any indication, a movie only brings in a larger glutton of cheap stuff to try and appeal to kids and parents. We may continue to see some limited regular 3.75" stuff through The Black Series or whatever they decide to rename it in the years to come but the 5POA is a result of the current market conditions which are that figures have become very expensive for these companies to make and therefore very expensive to sell. Retailers dont want to carry a lot of figures that are super expensive because they don't feel a parent is going to spend $10+ for a 3.75" action figure so the result is cheaper made figures they can get away with selling for less. Even if Hasbro makes higher quality stuff, getting the retailers to carry them in any significant numbers seems to be a challenge, and many of Hasbro's character choices for the initial waves for these lines doesn't help things. The first wave of 3.75" Black Series figures was so piss poor with basically all re-released characters its no wonder they now collect dust on most shelves leaving no room for wave 2 and 3.

Do you believe that leia sucks because she's poorly made or because you don't like the choice of having slave leia being the first one released? Everyone seems to hate this fig and I don't get it. You ask why they bother doing this leia first without a jabba but I think that's about the same as asking why they did a pilot Luke when there's no x wing. I really think it goes back to what I said before: they knew bikini leis is an iconic look that fan boys tend to go ga ga over and they just went with it. All of the big three have several wardrobe options and if the line has any longevity they'll all get made eventually. Fretting over which comes first is pointless. PS. This is my first reply swiping from my finances smart phone. Took me about 25 min to write. Not a fan.

I don't necessarily understand the hate for Slave Leia either. I mean yeah, her knee-joints are kinda unsightly, and that's not necessarily the first version that comes to mind when I think of Leia's debut for a premium figure line, but I thought it looked quite nice in the store personally.

And speaking of the 3-3/4" Black Series figures, there were a few diamonds in the rough, as it were. I loved the new Episode II Anakin, Padme, and Ceremony Luke they did, but the others were absolutely unnecessary in my mind. I think that's what turned me off, the inclusion of so many army-builders in the first wave. Meh.

I know a big company like Hasbro doesn't just kinda of half-as$ its business decisions as there is money involved (sometimes I wonder though) but I don't think the 6" line was meant to be as extensive as the 3.75 lines......I've enjoyed the few figs we gotten thus far Leia isn't entirely my favorite but I understand the decision in that process. That particular outfit is Iconic for her just as the White Dress & Hair Buns...I wouldn't think they would indulge us w/a Jabba.....I just want quality figs & keep the Yakfaces & JarJar's relegated to the 3.75 lines. Headliners only in other words....Greedo was fine as he is a cool little guy but at this point I'm just glad we have the figs we've gotten. I realize the price is a killer but w/the recent Amazon sale I picked up a few extras ones too. I can't gage exactly how well these figs are doing at most of the Targets I've been to over the Xmas season they seem to be selling well as they're usually out or only R2 is left.....time will tell all I know for sure is finding an Boba is damn near impossible right now but give it some time.....I did pick up an Darth Vader from the add-on option from Amazon last week, he's my special little guy......@duel@@

I got both Amazon orders in yesterday, including my gift to myself, the reduced Greedo, Luke, Maul, and R2!!! Love them!!

Don't know what I expect from this line, but I hope Amazon continues with their sales in the future!!!

Oh and I hope the final released Bespin Luke is better looking than the pics released thus far!!

For Xmas I gave away the first wave I had gotten to my nephews....Darth Maul, Luke & Sandtrooper.....I kept R2 & w/the Amazon sale I picked up 2 of the Lukes & Darth's & 2 extra Sandtroopers when they actually dipped down & @ $10 a piece it was 2 for 1 in that respect....I wanted to switch heads to create a pilot Porkins that isn't caloric-ally challenged....a Slimkins if you will.....for Xmas my GF scored me an extra Sandtrooper & Darth haha so now I'm swimming in wave 1 & I'm not complaining at all.....I just need a decent Luke head & I can make a ROTJ Luke hopefully from the Maul Fig...893Luke-thumb.gif

Who knows what the future holds for the toy lines once the flood gates open up with new movie merchandise. Personally, I guess I'd say go with two styles, the 6" and the 5 POA 3 3/4". Leave the super articulated 3 3/4" for dead if they absolutely can't do them without being over $10 a pop (which is what they WILL be in two years). I know that won't be a popular choice for some. That way the kids get a shot at owning some too. They will also fit in with your old school Star Wars figures.

A Target I visited had an entire endcap of these guys, and nary a Boba Fett to be found!!! Glad my favorite character is so popular!! I'm sure ill find him eventually!!

I've been to a quite a few targets in the past week scopin for clearance on xmas decorations & lights for next year......I want a super nerdy tree, its time I took a proactive stance on what decorations are on my tree my gf put it together this year so next year I'm putting in too....anyway @ every Terget I went to they had Wave 2 & Han, Leia, Greedo & in some cases they had 2 sets of each but still no Boba!......I find that very Lame for dudes and dudettes who are hoping to score one, I went on ebay earlier today and theres a full page of em' that's not cool & of course the markups are outrageous.....kiss my assets "sellers" I'm glad I scored one off of HTS many months back.....good luck hunters, you may get lucky at TRU they seem to still have Wave 1 in droves so maybe they'll bust out their stock of Wave 2 by early spring....

Finally got ahold of a Boba Fett.

And it's pretty fantastic.

Been wanting him since May, no wait, make that since 1998, and finally getting him, having a nice, superarticulated Boba Fett in the 6-inch scale, it's kinda a dream come true.

These figs are practically non-existent on shelves out here (Vegas) which I'll take as a good sign.

With Fett and the Sandtrooper, this is really one hell of a line. Just having those two is pure toy joy.

(I'm not getting human characters so getting the faces right with limited paint apps is not a problem for me.)

The only realy problem with Boba Fett is the range of motion in his ankles. If his foot cannot angle up towards his shin, and it can't, then he can't get into any deep poses.

I've carved out a bunch of the plastic from that joint to increase the amount it can move, and it helps a LOT. I could barely even stand him up before. I've also taken out a lot of plastic to increase his range of motion in the elbows, which can barely get to 90 degrees bent. I adore everthing about the sculpt and even those weathered paint apps work pretty darn well - he just needs a little work in range of motion. I noticed a lot of the sculpts in DCUC went the same route of looks over function, but it is fixable.

Brave man!! I'd never do that to my figures!!! LOL!!

So will Toy Fair be our first look at the next waves?? Any speculation??? I don't know about you guys, but I would like to see a good number of releases made!! Perhaps one version of Luke, Han, or Leia to anchor the wave, then a good mixture of known and background aliens and Imperial Troops!!

I cannot wait for the Imperial Naval Trooper, Biker Scout, Hoth Stirmtrooper, and Death Star Gunner!!!

As someone who's not a huge fan of Boba Fett, I have to say his 6" figure IS very impressive and I'm glad I have it.

See, I'm one who would pass on almost all of the figs you listed. I'm mainly interested in the main 3 characters in their various looks, and then just the MAIN characters after them--your Darth Vaders, C3PO, Lando, Yoda, Obi-Wan....etc. I'm going to have to pass on the troops, officers, and background dudes just because I feel that would open the flood gates and these are too expensive to do that. (However, I'll take a Tarken and Ackbar any day!)

It's funny you say that bro, cause I'm the complete opposite. Sure, I'll take most Hans and Lukes, but it's the background and secondary characters that I loved as a kid!!!

After seeing what an awesome job they did on the Sandtrooper, I'm saying enthisiastically, bring on the troops and aliens!!

But I do agree with you on the Grand Miff Tarkin figure, I'd buy it too!!!

According to the list of released, cancelled and upcoming products found on Hasbro's website back in October these are the figures that might make up the next few waves:

Woh, no kidding Wheeljack!! If those creatures are to be in scale with the 6' line, how big will they be??? Yikes!!! But, with Jabba's Court being my favorite scene, I'll be ready!!! If he is made, we gotta have some of his denizens, ie all of them!!! LOL

SW 6 INCH EP4 CHEWBACCA A6520

SW 6 INCH EP4 TIE PILOT A6521

SW 6 INCH JAWAS A6522

SW 6 INCH EP5 DARTH VADER A7268

SW 6 INCH EP5 C3PO A7269

SW 6 INCH EP6 LUKE JEDI A7270

SW 6 INCH SANDTROOPER A7271

SnTrooper, totally forgot about the Tie Pilot, but good choice!! The slicked back hair Chewie from the first one will be a cool choice!! I can't imagine how tall he'll be in figure form!!! Now I wonder with Jedi Luke; is he going to be all encompassing and include different hands or is this first appearance Luke with robes?? Then later on make a one gloved version??

The only way to get your money's worth from a $20 6" Luke would be to make it "all encompassing". Different hands, removable cloak and vest, with Endor helmet and poncho, and blaster. I'm probably dreaming...

But bring it on I say

Apart from what is coming I have a bit of a WISH LIST

  • Emperor's Guards - Red
  • Jango Fett - the only Prequel figure I am interested in
  • FX-7 - a long shot but a figure I had as a kid

They SHOULD be but don't count on it. They're gonna get you for those small figures. First R2, then Jawa, then Yoda, then every Ewok and astromech. All packaged singly, all $20 each. That's my prediction anyway.

I think Chewie should come packaged with with his legs off at the knees, have you stick them on yourself when you take him out. That way he will fit in the box and they won't do some weird gimmick where he will cost you more to own.

Or maybe he'll come packed in the case with the Jawas (hopefully that means at least 2), and their package is reduced to fit both packages?? Not sure how their boxes are packed within the case??

Blaster, all those you mentioned are a must have for me as well, except Jango Fett!! No more Prequel figures for me!! Maul was the only one!!

Question though, do you want the official Han in brown jacket, or vintage blue??? I prefer blue myself!! It looks blue in the movies, how it was actually brown I have no idea??? Maybe a ratio of both per case???
