A cheap Hyperion is better than no figure at all.

Exactly, I have seen pictures of the figure from people who already own it and they say it's a great figure plus the important thing is that they made him. I like this new body sculpt can't wait for the Sentry variant and other characters being released with this bodysculpt like Luke Cage.

Y'know, I see the complaint over and over again, but can someone please explain to me what "cheap" plastic feels like exactly?

Is it softish and bendy? Because that might be annoying, but it's less annoying than say, broken thumbs as were once quite common on 80's lines with "harder" plastic. I'd also note that a great many of the Toy Biz legends had similar quality.

Anyway, I got this wave last night and generally think it's the best Hasbro ML wave yet. But ehn, opinions are like a****les and all that.... Hope the variants for this wave are much more readily available than the seemingly-nonexistent wave 3 versions, though. Lyra She-Hulk, Sentry, White-Iron Fist and X-Force Archangel are all pretty much "Must Haves" for me.

I do have to say, however, that Marvel may need to rethink a bit of this variant business - It's kind of idiotic not to y'know, put the characters -names- on the package somewhere. Particularly when dealing with new or more obscure characters. I know this is a collector focused line, but seriously...if you want ANY kids to pick it up, you probably don't want them thinking that Defender is named "Warrior of the Mind" and Hyperion is "Conquering Hero" etc....

Stopped reading Hulk right before they debuted Red She-Hulk but she looks like the best figure out of this wave besides Archangel and Wolvie. I have the SDCC X-Force Wolvie and he's my favorite Wolverine sculpt!

"Running changes" is just a bad idea...

They finally got the claws right after more than a decade... I hope we see a repaint of the Wolverine in his blue and yellow...

Agreed, I haven't gotten this wave yet but like I said I have heard few valid complaints and cheap plastic was not one of them, besides I never had a Hasbro ML break on me(knock on wood) and I own several. While Hasbro first attempts were subpar I think they've been getting better and better plus this wave has two brand new sculpts and we're getting a new one by the end of the year(possibly) so while they have their flaws( what toy company doens't) I give credit to Hasbro for doing this especially in this economy.

There are also the Iron Man Legends (Probably 5 new sculpts counting Iron Monger), and possibly Thor Legends (for Thor 2) as well. But I definitely agree that Hasbro's Marvel Legends have improved a ton.

I hoping for a nice Sentry figure as well.

NO! That sends the message that we'll take any crap they give us!!!

True but I've been waiting most of my life for Squadron Sinister/Supreme figures so I'm glad for anything I can get!

Running changes are AWESOME! Are you kidding? From a wave of 6 "figures" we are given up to 9 or 10 characters! How can you beat that??? You'd rather wait for another wave to come out in 4 months?

Simple math:

Average of 4 waves a year with a flat 6 figures/characters per wave: 24 characters obtained

Average of 4 waves a year with 6 figures/9 characters per wave: 36 characters obtained.

With the running changes alone you are getting the equivalent of two extra 6 figure waves per year. If you want to count costume variants as well, that increases the options to buy.

Iron Man Legends is a great way to get through a bunch of armors in one wave (I was hoping for a new Mandarin, but the rumored classic Ultron is also intensely needed.

Thor Legends released for the movie could also give us the long-MIA Enchantress or Thunderstrike. I know millions of you are crying out for The Warriors Three, but I don't see it happening.

I think the issue is actually finding all the figures.

yeah.. I never saw Daken, White Spiderman, Thunderball, or Madam Masque... but I did find masked Daken, Big Time Spiderman, Piledriver and Madam Hydra

that is my only complaint about their running changes system.

(also haven't seen ANY of wave 3 yet)

So I'm not hearing a lot of evidence that Hyperion FEELS like cheap plastic, but just that he LOOKS like cheap plastic, like early Hasbro ML figs that were light on paint apps.

And the balls on posts to hold on legs is nothing new. ML Psylocke was run like that as well and movie Invisible Woman I and they turned out fine.

I'm thinking the Hyperion body could be useful for lots of custom so I'm interested, but also eager to find out its flaws. Can anyone elaborate on the "plastic feels cheap" thing?

So the "cheap plastic" refers to how it is a softer almost diluted plastic when compared to ml before 2012. This makes the joints less fluid and easier warped. It gets pretty hot in Cali and I can notice how my old Sentry compared to the 2012 Steve Rogers differ in fluid joints and how they the new stuff is less resistant to heat. The new figs sculpt is great and I don't blame Hasbro for finding a cheaper alternative, they still are great figs and times are tough.

But those of you who have the old toy biz Punisher (or even the nemises wave punisher) and the new Hasbro Punisher can compare the feel and how easy one fig can move its joints and how one feels more solid. Especially in the leg joints the new figs feel rough to move and can be warped a bit in package.

I personally I'm not likeing the running change, they are off releasing a new wave when I still not seen blade not even on eBay. Plus back in the old days my area was great for ML but now I don't see anything but wave 1 2012 stuff. I get most of my ml guys online now
