ENI Interviews EA About 'GI Joe: The Rise Of Cobra' Video Game

We didn't get answers we needed. Well, some of them.

One of the reasons the Transformers Movie game sucked was that ALL the "playable" characters were exactly the same. Well not entirely true, playing the Decepticons was WAY more fun since you could fly. But playing the Autobots, they were all exactly the same.

So, to make a long story short, will it ACTUALLY make a difference to play Duke over Snake Eyes or whomever? Or would it be easier just to use one guy for every mission cause they all have the exact same abilities.

Movie based games don't generally do well BECAUSE they are movie based games which significantly limits them. This one, at least, (as I read) is more of a "sequel" the movie then based on the movie.

And that also makes me wonder, will this have online and/or multi-player access?

I will tell you from the demo I saw at Toy Fair that there are some differences in the characters. For instance in one area you needed a character with strength like Heavy Duty to get a big door open that a character like Duke could not open. Also there were areas were a more agile character like Snake-Eyes came in handy as opposed to someone slower like Heavy Duty.

Also for those interested, though the folks at EA would not officially comment at this time, I have been told from other sources that the game will feature voices from the actual actors from the movie like Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Cobra Commander.

Ah, well see, there you go. That's at least something.
